Location – R5,R2 – Harvest

I’ve secured a ship, the Celestial Diviner, in order to begin the research I’ve gotten a contract to perform.

We are to proceed to R8,RJ from Harvest. We are to take 78 observations of asteroids and small rocks here. We will be paid 780 nubucks when the data is transmitted back to the Consortium. This location is much closer to Windsong than Harvest. We will need to go to Windsong before proceeding to take the measurements.

The ship came with a pilot, Terranova Fury. They are a human sized Octopus Mechanical. It gives them the ability to serve as their own co-pilot. I’m still getting a feel for them.

I’ve also hired a pair of crew. BohLahTooNahFuhn or Bo and Slash-Clap.

Bo is one of the sloth people of Harvest. He has been working as a clerk and should be good tracking paperwork so we can get reimbursed for expenses. He’s got great connections in the commercial community and he promises the clerknet will help us find the best deals. He’s also a linguist. So far that just helped translate one of the missions on the board though that would have taken us to the far side of the galaxy, so we didn’t take it. He prefers to eat some very woody bamboo. Fun fact, they only eat every other day.

Slash is one of the fomorians that manage some intensive farming in the Jungles of Harvest. His people lack the ability to speak. Fortunately, everyone on Harvest learns the trade sign language, so we’re able to communicate. He’s a navigator and I get the impression he’s good enough that Terranova is coming to accept him sitting at the nav station.

We have 1000 nubucks, 10 food packs for Bo, 25 veggie packs for Slash and I, and 5 human food packs for me. We also have 20 fuel.

Fuel is reported to be expensive on Windsong, so we need to get another 25 fuel before we leave. I think we’ll also get some extra food, 4 bamboo, 14 veggies, and 2 meat. Working with Boh he really came through. The fuel only cost 200 and the food only cost 15. This brings us to 785 nubucks, 14 food packs for Bo, 39 veggie packs, and 7 packs of human food.

We launch tomorrow on our way to Windsong.
