The scanners detected a living thing today.  Everyone got the chance to see it from the Observation Deck.  It was strange, looking like a crystal octopus twice the size of our ship.  Everyone enjoyed the sight.  Tel made a several crystal octopi for crew members.  Dude and I had a fun conversation speculating about how such a creature would experience the vagaries of life.
