The Algae Vats are ready and working.  The crew began by discussing whether to join the Federation.  It didn’t take long to agree that it would be worth doing as exploration and research is what we want to do most of the time.  Then Bo and I went out to check the local boards to see what was on offer.

In addition to being assigned an exploration mission by the Federation there were 8 missions on offer.  However, only two were plausible options.  One was a research mission on Ruin the other was an investigation into a known smuggler.  We decided to only take the research work.

The research mission will take us to Ruin.  The Department of Xeno-Archeology of the Federal Galactic University has hired us to make a series of 91 gravimetric readings to map the mass distribution of the ruins on Ruin.

We've joined the Federation.  They immediately handed us a relatively simple planetary survey by the harried secretary.  There is supposed to be an unmapped planet practically next door to Progress.  The other Captains have been ducking it since it comes with a documentary crew, which we need to pick up.  They are currently staying on Progress.

We leave first thing tomorrow.  We will pick up the ships log that is near Ruin.  Then complete the research on Ruin.  From there we proceed to Progress to pick up the Documentary Crew.  We’ll return them to Progress before heading to the planet to put together the report for the University of Montreal.  After that we go to Wavecrest and the weather research there.  Then we head to Harvest by way of Unity.  We’ll head to Windsong and the bounty after that.

We purchased 8 Fuel to ensure we have enough to make it to Progress.
